Fees and Scheduling

In-House Programs (take place at the museum)

  • $4* per student, per program (i.e. If your students participate in 2 programs on one day, the price is $8 per student.)
  • Minimum fee of $40
  • 1 adult chaperone free for every 5 students
  • One-to-one aids, drivers, and other additional required adults are free.  Please let us know when you make your reservation how many you will be bringing.
  • Additional adults $8.50* each (Additional adults are not charged per program.)
  • Programs are 90 minutes long, unless otherwise noted or arranged.
  • Allow extra time before and after your scheduled program for visits to the restrooms and Museum Gift Shop.
  • Programs are available daily, except Wednesdays, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • Programs must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.  We recommend scheduling spring programs at least one month in advance as those dates tend to fill up early.
  • The museum is closed on Wednesday (November through May), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, and for the month of January.

Outreach Programs (take place in your classroom)

  • $75* per presentation
  • Maximum class size of 25 students per presentation.
  • Mileage fee based on the federal rate applies to schools outside the Southwestern Vermont Supervisory Union.
  • Outreach programs are 60 minutes long unless otherwise noted or arranged.
  • Programs are available daily with flexible start and end times.
  • Programs must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance.  We recommend scheduling spring programs at least one month in advance as those dates tend to fill up early.
  • When scheduling multiple presentations, please allow transition time between programs.
  • Classroom teachers or other school staff are required to be in the room during the presentation.

Rentable Programs (museum loans materials to you)

  • $25 per program for 2 week rental.
  • Overdue charge: $5 per day.
  • Damage and lost item fees applied as necessary.
  • Payment is due upon program pick up.
  • Rentable programs must be reserved in advance and are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • The renting school or organization is responsible for program pick up and drop off.  The museum does not ship rentable programs.
