Bennington Museum seeks a full time Buildings and Grounds Supervisor                            

Bennington Museum is searching for an energetic, forward thinking team player with a love of art and history who will supervise and maintain the Museum’s buildings and grounds.  This position directs the maintenance and security department operations which include maintenance services, security operations, the implementation of site repairs/construction, and preventative maintenance.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or discipline, OR a combination of education and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties. Minimum of five years of job-related experience, with at least three years of supervisory/management experience, in facilities maintenance and/or construction including demonstrated managerial experience in purchasing, supplies, groundskeeping, and equipment repair. Must possess a hands-on approach to problem solving and a working knowledge of various laws related to the operations and maintenance of public facilities such as knowledge of building management systems including HVAC, security and fire alarm controls. Must be able to supervise staff and outside contractors, communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others. Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability is required.

Thank you for your interest in joining our family at Bennington Museum.  Opportunities for volunteers exist in almost every department, from curatorial and collections to marketing, education, and the museum shop.  Some volunteers are with us seasonally, some a few hours a week, others on an “as needed” basis.  If you enjoy spending time in a creative and stimulating environment, send us an email or fill out an application now.
