Hours of Operation:

  • 10am to 4pm
  • Fridays, June 5 to September 4, open to 7pm
  • Closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • The Regional History Room/Research Library is open on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1pm to 4pm, free with admission.

Days of Operation:

  • Open everyday except Wednesday
  • Closed for the months of February and March

Bennington Museum is a BLUE STAR Museum!

Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families.

The Blue Star Museums program begins on Armed Forces Day (May 20) and ends on Labor Day. For more information on Blue Star Museums, please see the FAQ page of the National Endowment for the Arts. Participating museums look forward to welcoming you in accordance with local safety protocols.

Bennington Museum is a Museum for Everyone!

Bennington Museum is proud to participate in Museums for All program offering access for families of all backgrounds to visit museums often and begin their enjoyment of art, history, and innovation.  Museums for All is a cooperative initiative between the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).  Admission is Free for up to 4 people upon presentation of an EBT card and photo ID.  Visits unlimited.

FAQs

Can I take Pictures?
Yes! We invite you to photograph and video the exhibitions on view for personal use. If you share them on social media, please tag us!
For the preservation of the pieces, keep your flash off.
Professional photographers should make an appointment with the Marketing Department: marketing@benningtonmuseum.org

Can I make sketches? 
Yes! Drawing with pencil in the galleries is permitted with sketchbooks no larger than 11 x 7 inches. We encourage you to share your work on social media and tag us.

Can I use my cell phone?
Please take phone calls outside the galleries. Several exhibits have QR codes linking to audio content which we invite you to enjoy through your personal headphones. You may take pictures without flash in all galleries.

Is there a safe place to store my belongings while I visit? 
Store your backpacks, umbrellas, and jackets in our coatroom during your visit.  Purses and bags over 12″ may not be brought into the galleries.

Can I bring my water bottle inside?
Food and drinks (including water bottles) are not permitted in the galleries except for persons who need to carry water for medical reasons.

May I smoke? 
Smoking is not permitted on the Museum property including the pavilion, Hadwen Woods and George Aiken Wildflower Trail. Also, smoking kills.

Can I bring my pet inside?
Pets are not allowed inside the Museum. Please do not leave a pet unattended in your car or tied outside the museum building. Service animals are permitted with proof of licensure. Pets are welcome on the outdoor Museum trails.

Is there a lost and found?
Report a lost or found item at the Visitors’ Services Desk or to the security guard on duty.
