This year, big New Year’s Eve celebrations are off the table, but Bennington Museum has found a way to offer its end of year traditions for kids and community in a COVID-safe way.
Giving Back
Carrying forward the goodwill of giving back during Bennington Museum’s Family Day, on Wednesday, December 30th between 10am and 2pm, the Museum invites the public to drop off a non-perishable food item or a personal care item (toothpaste, diapers, etc.) to the Museum Courtyard. These simple donations will be given to a local non-profit organization serving our neighbors in need. This year has been especially hard on many members of our community. Lending a helping hand is a great way to share the holiday spirit and give back to those who could really use the help.
Looking Forward
When you drop off your canned good or personal care donation, the Museum will be giving out a Noon Year’s Eve Party Bag for the kids, first come first serve while supplies last. Each bag contains materials and instructions for 4 Noon Year’s Eve activities (firework painting, noisemakers, party hats, and the Year in Review), plus a Noon Year’s Eve Kiss (the chocolate variety) and the all-important bubble wrap for the countdown to Noon. The next day, New Year’s Eve, families are encouraged to lead their own raucous countdown to noon so the little ones can celebrate and still get to bed on time.
If you post your pictures and videos on social media, make sure to tag @benningtonmuseum. This year will certainly be different, but it can still be just as fun!
