Museum ABCs – If You Plant a Seed

Take a walk on the George Aiken Wildflower Trail while enjoying a story together! This Museum ABCs program will take place in person on the trail and be available online for those who prefer a virtual experience. Our Trail Tale this Fall is If You Plant a Seed by Kadir Nelson, a beautifully illustrated story about the power of kindness. If you choose to participate in person, you will hear the story read to you by Linda Donigan of the Bennington Free Library as you follow the trail together. Then we will all decorate pots and plant our own seeds to bring home. Meet at the Hadwen Pavilion, at the far end of the Museum parking lot.

If you prefer to participate virtually, you can watch a recorded video of the Trail Tale or come read and walk on your own. Pick up an activity packet (while supplies last) at either the Bennington Free Library or the Bennington Museum during regular open hours so you can plants seeds at home. (Video and activity packets available beginning September 21)

The Museum ABCs program is a collaboration between Bennington Museum and the Bennington Free Library. The program is intended for children ages 3 to 5 and their adult companions and supports early literacy and a lifelong love of museums and learning. Museum ABCs is offered at no charge to participants, thanks to generous support from The Bank of Bennington.
