Landscapes: Oil Painting and Drawing Workshop

Instruction will be given on oil painting and drawing techniques, how to capture the effects of light and shadow, aerial perspective,  linear perspective, color mixing, composition, and more.  Open to artists of all levels from absolute beginners to experienced painters.  This workshop is designed to enhance your powers of observation and develop your innate creative problem solving abilities.  Students will work outside, on site from 9:30 – 12:00 in the morning and from 2:30 – 5:00 in the afternoon. Individual attention and instruction guaranteed! Casual Meet and Greet Friday evening (5:00 – 6:00) includes admission to the Museum. Students are responsible for supplying their own materials. A materials list will be provided by the instructor.

 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Stella Ehrich lived in Italy for sixteen years, where she spent seven years studying figurative realism in the atelier of Nera Simi in Florence. She holds an MFA in painting from Bennington College. Stella is a professional painter whose work includes portraits, landscapes and still life subjects.
