A decade by decade look at some of the celebrated books of the Bennington College community and what they reveal about the influence of the College and the time in which they were written. There will be time for questions and discussion.
Oceana Wilson has worked at Bennington College since 2001 and has served as Dean of the Library since 2015. She is integrally involved in supporting the work of the faculty and students at Bennington College and in creating a library aligned with the educational vision of the College. In addition, she is the immediate past president of the Vermont Library Association. Wilson earned an MS in Library and Information Science from the Graduate School of Information and Library Science at Simmons College. She has received a Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times “I Love My Librarian” Award for Outstanding Community Service and a Rebecca B. Stickney Award for service to Bennington College.
Jeffrey Perkins joined Bennington College in September 2022 from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, where he served as Vice President of Communications and Marketing and Associate Vice President of Communications and External Relations. He has held previous roles at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received his MFA in Writing from Bennington in 2009 and was the recipient of the Jane Kenyon Memorial Scholarship. He also holds an MA in American Studies from University of Massachusetts, Boston and a BA in Peace and Global Studies/Politics from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana.
