A Bennington Historical Society Presentation

“This historic crossroads born of liberty and nurtured by the freedom loving hub for wayfarers. Host to generations. This pleasant land among the mountains.” Inscription on the 1961 bicentennial marker at the foot of the Soldier’s Memorial in the Village.  From the days of the American Revolution to the summer colony of the Victorian era; Factory Point to a four-season resort, Manchester has transformed over the generations.  Join Manchester Historical Society’s curator, Shawn Harrington for a sampler of history: 1761-2021.

About the Presenter:

Shawn Harrington is the curator of the Manchester Historical Society. He is a trustee at the Vermont Folklife Center, trustee of Dellwood Cemetery Association, curator of the Ekwanok Country Club Library and Museum, Board of Advisors for The Wilson House of East Dorset and Member at large of the Vermont Society Sons of the American Revolution board of managers.  And a father of 2 boys, his most important role.
