Have you ever wondered what stories lie in the cemetery behind the Old First Church? This guided tour starts in the Vermont Rocks! exhibition, where you will learn about Vermont’s 3 state rocks (and frequent headstone materials), marble, granite, and slate. The tour continues in the Bennington Center Cemetery, where Jamie will share the stories of some of the people buried there and introduce you to the works of some of the region’s early headstone carvers.

Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for some uphill walking and uneven terrain. We recommend bringing water to drink and applying sunscreen and bug spray.
