School Vacation is a Great Time to Come to the Bennington Museum

Bennington Museum has wonderful Winter Vacation Workshops planned for all students who are in kindergarten through grade 4. From February 18 through the 22nd, (Not Wednesday, February 20) join in the exploration of winter for a day or for the week.

On Monday, Bennington Museum offers For the Birds. This workshop is for the birds! February is National Bird-Feeding Month, so the afternoon will be spent making bird feeders for and learning about our feathered-friends.

Tuesday, Snowflake Bentley; Vermont native, Wilson Bentley took photographs of snowflakes, proving that no two are alike. Celebrating Snowflake Bentley, there will be stories, snow-crafts, and, weather permitting, some snowflake investigation of our own.

Thursday, Wonderful Winter Art; Get inspiration from Grandma Moses, who used glitter to make her snowy scenes sparkle. It’s all about Winter today as we make all sorts of snowy works.

Friday, Animals Everywhere. Is there a bear lurking in the Museum? Find out as we search the galleries for animals large and small, sharing stories and creating art along the way.

The cost is $10/child per session for museum members and $15 for not-yet-members. This includes snack and all materials. 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Call Deana Mallory at 802-447-1571 ext. 203 for details and to register.

About the Museum
Bennington Museum is located at 75 Main Street (Route 9), Bennington, in The Shires of Vermont. The Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday, closed Wednesday through May. Open daily June through October (closed July 4.) It is wheelchair accessible. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students over 18.
