The Bennington Free Library, the Bennington Historical Society (BHS), and CAT-TV have teamed up to create Know Your History, a new four-part series hosted by Karson Kiesinger, Reference and Adult Services Librarian at Bennington Free Library and Bob Tegart, Administrator of the Bennington Museum Regional History Room and President of the BHS, a program of Bennington Museum.

In this series, Karson and Bob research the history of 625 Main Street, the home of CAT-TV, discover this historic downtown property was previously home to several figures significant to the development of Bennington, and share their process. The four episodes of Know Your History produced by Mike Cutler of CAT-TV, demonstrate how to research properties and people using free local historical resources.

The fourth and final episode, filmed at 625 Main Street, will be available for viewing beginning Friday, October 13 on Channel 1075, CAT-TV’s YouTube page, CAT-TV’s Facebook page, the Bennington Free Library’s website and the BHS page of Bennington Museum’s website. Join Bob and Karson on a tour of CAT-TV’s home led by Executive Director Lisa Byer and Operations Manager William Gardner. See how research connects to the current property and hear about former owners, including some ghost stories! Know Your History is supported in part by Vermont Humanities and CAT-TV.
