H.T. Cushman and the Cushman Manufacturing Company

This online webinar will give an overview of the life of Henry Cushman and the North Bennington Company he founded that became famous for the production of furniture between 1886 and 1964. While the most well known of the furniture lines was Cushman Colonial Creations, there were many other notable pieces designed and produced, and interesting people who came into the Cushman orbit including New York designer Herman E. Devries and the Grand Rapids firm of Lubberts & Mulder.

Susan Bonser spent her early career on Madison Avenue as an art director and creative director in publishing, then embracedπ new media as the director of internet operations for a regional NHL team, finally earning her doctorate in education and teaching in a tenured faculty position in Pennsylvania. She and her husband have retired, but continue to publish at thebonsers.com.
